Measuring productivity is not simply about counting hours at a desk. An employee who spends eight hours with a screen open but is constantly switching between social media and news sites is very different from someone who spends six focused hours in business applications. The Productivity Intelligence Engine distinguishes between these patterns by combining time analysis with engagement scoring.

The engine classifies every application and website into one of three categories: productive, neutral, or unproductive. These classifications are fully customisable per organisation, because what counts as productive varies by role. A marketing team may consider social media productive, while a finance team would not. Time spent in each category is combined with engagement metrics like input activity distribution and active versus idle ratios.

The result is a daily productivity score from 0 to 100 for each user, accompanied by a classification of Productive, Neutral, or Unproductive. Time analysis forms one component of the score, while engagement scoring forms another. The two are blended to produce a holistic measure that accounts for both what someone is doing and how actively they are doing it.
